DAILY FOLDER: I will be giving each student a daily folder. This folder is made of polyethylene plastic and is very durable. Each pocket will have a label on how that pocket should be used. Students will need to keep this folder organized. Please make sure you remove all papers that are labeled "TO GO HOME & REMOVED" daily.
DRESS CODE: Please make sure you read the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation Dress Rules. Stringtown Elementary does not have a dress uniform, but we have strict rules on what you may or may not wear.
Special note: Students are not allowed to wear flip flops without backs. This is for their safety for gym and recess.
QUESTIONS: If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me by letter (which may be placed in their daily folder), email, or a phone call. I am available for conferences during my plan period (10:05 - 10:30) except on Tuesdays.
GT: (High Ability Students) will be attending GT during the morning hours from 7:55 - 8:37.
LUNCH: Once again your child will have to memorize their 5 digit code for lunch. Please make sure you turn in your money on time. The cafeteria ladies will let you know by sending you a note home when the balance is low.
POSITIVE REWARDS:
Whole Class Reward: If the entire class has a great day, we will put a fuzzy pom pom in the reward jar. When we fill the jar up, the entire class will be able to have a class party of their choice.
Group Reward: I will be putting the class into groups. At the end of the day, I will reward a group for doing their very best. The best group will be rewarded with a point. When a group reaches 10 points, they will be given $10.00 classroom money.
Single Reward: If a student is caught doing something special, they will be rewarded with $1.00 classroom money. They will also be able to put their name on the good behavior grid. At the end of the year, we will draw from the grid and the four children chosen will get a very special treat.
PTA: Take time to join PTA in the first couple weeks of school. Your involvement and support means a lot to Stringtown.
Report Cards: Report Cards will be given out 4 times during the school year. You must sign & return the envelope. You can keep the report card in it.
Toys: Absolutely no toys allowed at school. Please do not let them bring in little items unless I give permission.
